To me the term is bad because players like Goodrow have a short shelf life. It's the same problem I have with the Chris Kreider contract.

I saw a rumor saying that the Rangers are trading Strome to make room for a top tier center. Either Eichel or Kuzenstov is my guess

Why does everyone hate Strome?

The Strome deal seems like a good deal if we can get two seconds from a team that is unlikely to make the playoffs. I could see the deal with Vegas though I'd prefer we not trade for Reeves, but McNabb makes sense. I would love a second for Georgiev, but I don't think he is moved as they probably do not fully trust Igor just yet (all the injuries). I do think we will get a 2nd line center, but more of a 1B like a Horvat or Larkin, this way if Mika wants the bag or has a down year we aren't forced to keep him.

His numbers have been great, but influenced by Breadman. He isn't good defensively or in the faceoff circle, if this team is serious about making the playoffs and winning a round, Strome should be on the 3rd line, on wing, or another team.

Yeah the term is a little long but you got him at a good price, I don't think it effect the Rangers at all in the long run

Panarin missed plenty of time in 2021 and Strome kept his scoring pace up. He played with Panarin plenty, but also plenty without and is something like the 25th highest scoring forward over the last two years. Move him to the wing before dumping him for a couple picks

I'm just crossing my fingers that all of the bonuses are bloated in the beginning of the contract, that way it doesn't eliminate the possibility of a buyout if it comes down to that. It can also make other teams more willing to trade for him and earn draft capital for doing so.

Also Panarin missed 14 games... he played most of the season with Strome, it's not like Bread missed 23 games.
