Unless its for a superstar winger the 22 1st is off the table imo. But i do like the idea of garland. Another player to reconsider is laine. Hes not going to cost nearly as much as last offseason and will get a cheaper contract.

Theres also no need to move leo. We have the cap to bury him so why are we moving picks to get him out.

Garland is an elite 1st line winger. That’s good enough for me. He’s one of the few players I would give up a 2022 1st for.

He most certainly is not. His career high 39 points is a little scary. Especially when youre giving up that monster package.

Garland is miles better than Laine and he was on pace for 65 points this season (39 pts in 49 games)

This feels like a lottttttt - could there be a better player we could get for this package? Forsberg? Gaudreau? I don't know man

1. You used jfresh bc u know i like him you sob.
2. I feel like this is a buy low moment. He played on a disasterous columbus team whose best c was max domi i mean come on. 3/4 of the team didnt fit the system and it really screwed them over. Playing with barzal and a defensively reliable winger (for example landeskog) i think hed have a major bounce back year. Is he ever going to be a 2 way forward? No. Is he ever going to kill penalties? No. But i think he can become an elite sniper and put up 40 goals a season playing with barzal. He'll also help a pp thats in desperate need of a savior.

I like Garland a lot but I'm not willing to pay that high of a price for him.

Garland is better than Forsberg and Trotz would probably healthy scratch gaudreau.

I think you guys are underestimating how good garland is. Hes a legitimate 1st line winger in his prime. I’m not for giving up 1sts for guys in their late 20s but Garland fits the bill of the type of player the isles should be targeting.

He said in an interview a few weeks ago that Tortorella didn’t give him any freedom offensively and “I am who I am , I want to do things my way”

If the isles traded for him he’d request a trade within a month.

He had great linemates in columbus , he played with bjorkstrand who’s a fantastic two way 1st line winger. He’s a perimeter player who cannot drive offense or play defense. He has a great shot, that s it. He doesn’t want to play defense or play physical, he’s admitted that already. He wants to play his way. Laine would be an awful fit in trotz system, his numbers would be similar to last year in Columbus
