When’s the last time a team traded 9 pieces away in a single trade?

Buffalo, Columbus and Detroit all pass. Not enough quality for Eichel and Jones. And Bertuzzi cost you KK.

Add a pile of more garbage to the KK trade doesnt make it more interesting. No Suzuki or Caufield, then there is no deal that can be made

Its a good make believe team, but thats about it. The team here has no future as your giving away pretty much half of your farm system. Corey Perry can pretty much pick his team at $900k, but after his play last year and his playoffs, I can see him requesting $2M and teams would pay him. You have to Sign Suzuki in 1 year, so likely no way your getting Seth Jones to return after this one year. Landeskog would request a minimum of $9M. With the length of contracts, Cole Caufield is on track for a $5-6M deal in a few years. Better win now.

Bertuzzi trade is a pass from Detroit, The picks are later and don't matter one bit at that rate. The three guys that are being offered arent horrible, but not valuable enough to Detroit. they have enough in the pipeline that is better along with 4 picks prior to the best pick your offering here.

I think no way any GM would give up that much for Eichel. Even for a diehard fan base, this is a ballsy move to go this hard in for a win. If/When this fails, Montreal will take years to rebuild without draft picks.

Expensive doesn't mean a team's 3rd most valuable asset. There are only two players on Detroit's roster worth including Kotkaniemi, and that's Larkin and Vrana.

I agree, but most teams hear a guy is on the market and immediately assume he's free because they have no knowledge of players outside of their organization. They also don't understand what any other organizational needs are. This was pretty much, pick the 3 worst guys we can find on Laval and send them to Detroit with a 2nd round pick (#62 or so) and a 4th that wont matter for Bertuzzi. There are better prospects that could be sent to Detroit to acquire Bertuzzi, but this isnt a good package for Detroit.

I wouldn't make the trade because other teams have way higher value they WOULD send back to Detroit. Not that I don't like this trade, I just think there are other teams with WAY better offers coming in.

To be fair, its a trade that Detroit would put at the bottom of the pile. There are teams that would offer way better deals. 3 guys + 2 picks isn't horrible, but Detroit isnt letting Bertuzzi go for the chance that one of these guys actually does better then they are even projected. It would take a miracle for any one of these to 1/3 of the value of Bertuzzi over the next 3-5 years. Other teams will have way better offers.

That's fine because it's very doubtful Yzerman even moves Bertuzzi within the division anyways, Those pieces aren't remotely close to getting Bertuzzi. Without KK being involved Montreal doesn't have the pieces for Bertuzzi.

Okay give me a reasonable offer then, because the OPs offer isn't remotely realistic. I've got news for you Bertuzzi isn't on the market. And yeah Yzerman said it's going to take a crazy overpay to get him out of Detroit similar to the Mantha deal.

You're not gonna get down to earth with any realistic offer anyways. Jan Mysak, Jordan Harris + a 2nd = 3x 2nd round pick, which is more than what players of Bertuzzi's caliber are moved for. The Habs shouldn't be after Bertuzzi, but if they were, they shouldn't offer more than Kaiden Guhle straight up.
