Florida can either take a chance on a younger Yandle replacement with higher upside, or leverage cap space by retaining half salary and flipping him for more. I chose Florida because I think they're a good fit, but could be any team

Why? He consistently scores at a 60 point pace and LAK has looked to add another forward. His hit is a bit big but 2 years is manageable for a guy who would step in and immediately be their best winger

I didn't like the contract the day it was signed. I certainly don't like it now. JVR is an east coast player. He would not do well on a Western conference team that expects its players to play a two-way game.

Truthfully I think people are too worried about his shoulder. The thing with him is it isn't like there's some Neverending issue, it was a botched surgery and then another that gave him a very long recovery time. I still have faith he could be the shooter they've been looking for

I love your optimism but we've been down this road too many times before with aging superstars. If we want to spend 7.5 million lets use that and go after Landeskog

I think whoever signs Landeskog is asking for disaster. He is supposedly looking for ~9 million long term on the open market, and players of his style do not tend to age well. Tarasenko is still 29 and his upside is that of a top-15 winger in the league. Yeah, he might not return to 40 goal 75 point pace, but if he can average 30 goals and good play driving metrics that's a win for Philly IMO
