I bet you he does.

I also enjoyed Lindberg as the starting goalie despite his agent giving Guerin a notice that they're not going to sign here.

Sell off everything at this point. No cap, no goalies, and a weak d-corps.

1) This is 3 yrs from now

2) After i ve seen all the expansion lists, I am sure that Kahk is taken and this might convince Lindberg to stay.

He's just a couple weeks from being a free agent. He's not staying. Doesn't matter if it's tomorrow or three years from now.

how does him being a free agent prevents him signing with a team with the hole in a goal

Why would he sign here, when he's leaving because he doesn't want to sign here? Do you think he's leaving because we're too deep in goal for him to win a spot (as you draft Cossa with a 1st rounder)?

I heard that he wants to play, then here are his NHL minutes

He's not going straight to the NHL no matter where he signs. He has no NHL minutes this year, anywhere.

And his agent has already given the notice. It's extremely unlikely they take it back just because Kahkonen gets taken in the expansion draft.

GMBG might pull out this card. It is his duty ro retain players whom we want in long term. Without a solid goalie prospect him getting Eichel would be just a truly stupid decision

So here’s the thing. I don’t think Eichel alone will make up for the sacrifices that need to be made to get him. This team assumes every prospect drafted in 2020/2019 will hit and that WILL NOT happen. The other thing is that defense looks atrocious.

All this is too say Eichel ain’t worth it and the sooner the team decides which 2 of Kirill/Fiala/Dumba they want to keep, the better.

Pasta's deal: 8.89% cap hit (when signed) and ends when he's 27. To make Kaprizov's deal similar in cap hit % and age when it ends it would be a $7.25m x 3 deal. Kaprizov also has MN over a barrel, and an agent that knows this and will take full advantage of it.

Putting it on paper really confirms that. But as down as I sound on the prospects, I really think we are gonna be in good shape during those last years to figure out who sinks and who swims.

How does Kaprizov have Minnesota over a barrel when he can't go to arbitration, can't sign an offer sheet, and is a RFA for three more years? The KHL isn't a legitimate threat.

That is not our fault that he came to the NHL later. We have a precedent and we should use it in our favour

I wouldn't call many of the moves GMBG has done as smart moves. He inherited a young team, a quality prospect pool, and not a huge cap problem. Now it's this mess he's made.

Precedent for what? Having an award winning franchise player on the Wild?

The only precedent MN has is firing a GM who wouldn't give a player a contract (Fenton/Spurgeon). Seriously, if it came down to Karpizov not signing because he didn't get a contract he liked, or the GMBG still having a job. I'd put money on the player over the GM being in MN next year.

How is the KHL not a legitimate threat? He can go be a superstar in his home country and win something while MN burns next season.

Or he can pull a Nylander and go play the start of the season overseas. He'll be putting up great stats wherever he is, while MN is spinning it tires near the bottom of the Central without him.

Yeah, this is my concern with Eichel. We could get him, but we have no team left when we do with the dead cap

I think Zucc would be dumped somewhere and Spurgeon boughtout to free up another $11m or so at this point; that would buy you a goalie ($3m) and 2 d-man ($4m/each).

I wouldn't be too concerned about the FWDs (assuming Rossi and Greenway are gone):
xxx/Eichel/Kaprizov (they'll be able to carry a 3rd FWD)
Boldy/JEE/Fiala
Foligno/xxx/Hartman (probably the 4th line)
xxx/xxx/xxx
Guessing 2-3 current prospects fill the xxx spots for cheap. McBain isn't included here, but I think he has a shot as a bottom-6er still

Brodin/Menell
xxx/Addison
xxx/xxx
Guessing 1 prospect fills a xxx spot, MN seems to be able to turn in something into nothing for d-men so it might fill another xxx spot. One of Addison or Menell really needs to turn into something though.

xxx
xxx
No clue on this. They have currently have some decent goalie prospects, but I couldn't say if any of them were even going to turn into NHL backup quality. Goalies are just so hard to predict.
