Trades
1.
BUF
  1. Norlinder, Mattias
  2. 2021 3rd round pick (CHI)
Additional Details:
Reported the Sabres want a young D prospect and a high pick, Canadians will need a right D with Weber out.
2.
BUF
  1. Kaliyev, Arthur
  2. 2021 1st round pick (LAK)
Additional Details:
Sabres want an NHL ready young top prospect, Kaliyev fits that role and the Sabres get the 6th overall pick to draft another young player.
LAK
  1. Reinhart, Sam
Additional Details:
I HATE trading Reinhart. But it appears Adams and this loser organization is dead set on it... LA is getting a great player
3.
BUF
  1. Comtois, Maxime [RFA Rights]
  2. Lundeström, Isac [RFA Rights]
  3. Rakell, Rickard
  4. 2021 1st round pick (ANA)
Additional Details:
I had mocked Eichel to the Wild for awhile but I'm starting to think the Ducks make the most sense. They apparently insist not giving up Zegras, so taking Comtois and Lundestrom was a hopeful compromise.

Lundestrom hasn't really hit in North America and it's possible he could be a bust, but in my opinion, worth a flyer.

Rakell was added for cap space. We can try and sign him if he fits in, or more than likely, flip him to a contender at the deadline.

The 3rd overall pick in this years draft is the real prize.
4.
BUF
Expansion. I believe it will come down to cap space. If Seattle is tight with the cap, they'll pick Borgen if they have some space, they'll go with Miller. Ultimately, I could see the Sabres working out a deal for them to take on some of Eakin's salary and Miller for a draft pick
    5.
    BUF
      Future considerations, side deal
      SEA
      1. Eakin, Cody ($1,000,000 retained)
      2. 2021 3rd round pick (MTL)

LA declines, Kaliyev is their best wing prospect and they don’t have many. If 8th overall isn’t enough they can trade with another team, there are several available free agents and the Kings have cap space.

You can't expect to keep all your good prospects in trades... Kings would be lucky for Kaliyev to become as good a Reinhart. Sabres want an NHL ready player for the 11th best goal scorer in the NHL last year, a duel position top 3 player on almost any team in the NHL. I hate giving up Reinhart but he's certainly worth this package.

A division rival, the price is higher.. It's honestly not that much to give

Kings have lots of great forward prospects, most of them are centers, that's who they would move if they were so inclined. The biggest issue with signing Reinhart is it would need to be a sign and trade to justify the value of 8th overall and a blue chip prospect, and he has no reason to do that.

And I agree he's a stud, but Kaliyev is on an ELC in a cap freeze, it doesn't matter if he's half as good, he's a 1/7th of the cost during a cap freeze when the Kings need scoring and they can use their cap space for a 20 goal scoring winger without selling the farm.

Sounds like Sabres value the player over the pick for Reinhart then.. But they'd have to add to it. NO WAY would it be 1 for 1

their floors are maybe higher, not ceilings. regardless, Ristolainen isn't great and the "young promising dman + high pick" ask is far too much

Byfield is untouchable, I can't see them trading Turcotte in an Reinhart trade either... Kupari and Thomas are options but not really NHL ready to contribute at this point.. Maybe Kupari but it hardly fits as well as Kaliyev...

Well there you have it, Kings will likely keep their pick and explore the free agency for a top-6 winger. There is no urgency, they will wait for good deals like they did for Arvidsson.

Yeah BUF ain't gonna get that from MTL for Risto. We can go out and try and sign a better RD(Hamilton) or even trade for a cheaper one
