2. You're giving them a top 10 player and taking a player from them who hasn't played in 2 seasons and probably never playing again

Not gonna touch the Ducks trade. Why would Dougie take a 1 year deal?

1. Are you in their front office and can confirm that?
2. You just gave a reason to why they would trade Zegras.... they are receiving a top 10 player. Is Zegras even a top 50 player of guaranteed to be one? Why would I involve a player that had not played the last 2 years and will not play for the rest of his contract. Simple. It’s a salary dump. Anaheim is taking on approximately 6mill per year of real money for Marners contract. The leafs can afford to pay for a contract while it’s on LTIR.

Eichel had a serious injury amd may never be the player he once was. Take a look at this past year. Then take a look at Marners last 3 years. 4th, 18th and 12th overall in scoring. A legitimate top 15 of not 10 player in the league at this point. 6 mill real money per year moving forward after the Leafs payed out his last SB. Is Zegras even a top 50 player and will he ever be? Who knows. Pretty sure Marner will always have a higher value then Zegras for the foreseeable future.
