    Don't think Schmidt wants to go to Detroit. And I don't see why the Canucks would trade him for picks when they have so few nhl dmen. I think if he is traded it will be for a defenseman that can come right into the lineup and contribute. Otherwise why even trade him.

    I was listening to an NHL insider from St. Louis on the radio the other day, he speculated that Schwartz's contract dollar number would start with either a 5 or 6.
    It would be nice to have Pearson drop to the 3rd line though, I do hope they find another top 6 option to help balance the forward group.

    OTT declines. I'd sooner have Parker Kelly come up and play that bottom 6 spot if there is one. That $2.2M could be much better spent in this 2nd cap crunch season.
