Description
Start with:

Trading Kelly to Columbus for depth player - Sifers and a couple of picks, this frees up some Cap Space

Then we move on to the blockbuster deal, the Bruins get Eberle and a 5th and 6th for top 6 forward Louis Eriksson, 4-star prospect Seth and Griffith and depth player Max Talbot AND first and third round picks (making this trade hard to deny) - this cuts into the salary cap but adds a very big offensive weapon

Lastly, before visiting the FA market, the Bruins send Seidenberg and a second rounder to the Islanders for a solid d-man in Hickey and a first rounder (making up for the one they sent to EDM) - this once again gives the B's some cap space (about 7 mil) and a very good replacement for Seidenberg

With that 7 million in cap space, the Bruins can go sign coveted Cody Franson and a solid back-up goalie in Gustavsson, this will leave the Bruins with 6 signed goalies, and that's why before closing up what would be a successful off-season with a low-key trade...

...sending farm goalie Jeremy Smith to EDM (once again) for a 6th rounder, leaving the B's with about 2 mil in cap space and a very solid roster

I like your effort but getting a first for Seidenberg? Thats laughable. He's 34 whos had an ACL injury and lost a step. Eberle is not coming I would love it but Pastrnak and Connolly are 19 and 23 respectively still with a lot of potential to be Top 6 forwards. Plus Jimmy Hayes shouldn't be on the 4th line. I like the Franson signing and I believe that's the most realistic thing about this cause I do think we will sign him. Dunno about 4.9m though I'd say around 4.2-4.5m for 3-4 years.

Agree with Kiew's Seindenberg comment. If the Isle's wanted a RH Dman, they could just sign Franson and keep Hickey and their first rounder.

As a Leaf fan, I don't understand all this Cody Franson love on this site. Franson and Phanuef have been the Leafs defence "leaders" on the leagues worse defence for years. He's a free agent but not deserving of big money and term (although it just takes one GM to think so)

The Edmonton trade...In effect for a rebuilding Edmonton team it's Griffith, a first and a third. Certainly think Eberle is worth more especially with McDavid as his centre.

Why does CBJ make this trade? To free cap space for Boston?

As an Islander fan, I like Seidenberg, but not for Hickey and a 1st. Just not worth that kind of price.

I thought Franson played really well last year while he was with the Leafs, and was just unfortunate to get traded to a team with crazy blueline depth like Nashville. And I don't think he was considered a "leader" until last year and he played his way into the role. I don't think 4.5-5 million a season is unreasonable for a UFA his age.
