Description

Which team needs a veteran, puck-moving, heavy-shot RD at $4.5 million for 1-year?

(its only $1 million real money since bonus is paid).

Some will say...(responses given)

1) Locker room cancer (maybe in MTL, NSH, but he hasn't been in NJ...at all)
2) Devils pay to move him (Devils are retaining half and still have plenty pf cap space, and at $4.5m he still has lots of positive value)
3) He is bad now (He was at times last year when dealing with injuries, was mostly great this year, was top-4 all season)
4) He is not worth $9 million (no, he is not, but acquiring team is paying $4.5m AAV and $1m real money since all his bonuses are paid).

NJD fans see him for what he is...a veteran, middle-pair RD

I wouldn't say he was a cancer in the Montreal locker room but he did not get along with Gallagher from what I have heard. We also have no one in our system to replace Weber as the only RHD we actually have are Brook, Fleury, Henrikson, Weber and Petry. I would do Byron + 2nd for Subban half retained

I can't see the Jets having much if any interest in Subban, but that quickly drops to zero interest if Jersey asks for Stanley.
