That dumo trade makes 0 sense for the pens. Hes easily one of the best top pairing LD. Its gonna take more than a pick and a prospect we dont need

Tight against the cap and they've got two younger D man on the left side for a long time. Looked at it as a move for the future for them... Could make the prospect or pick better

Eye roll... They have to free up cap space somehow... Buffalo isn't going to just take Rask as a favor.. Who else would you add to the list? I'd love to add Fiala, but I doubt they part with him.

1st off, the pens are most likely trading pettersson. 2nd off POJ might not be ready for the nhl. 3rd off, since when did the pens say they were rebuilding? Its starts with a good prospect (not an average one) and a 1st round pick.

Ullmark and Coleman will find dozens of better landing spots and likely more money, they aren't signing in Buffalo.

They just signed Pettersson to a 5 year deal last year... Why would they trade him now? I never said they were rebuilding, but they've got 3 million cap space with some holes in the roster and RFA's to sign. This made sense when considering Dumolin has two years left on his deal...

I admit I dont get trading guys like reinhart and eichel but then signing coleman and grandlund and ulmark. Its more likely they lean into the tank.

Ullmark played here is whole career. He could easily resign. Sabres can overpay Coleman to get him to come here. He's won two cups in a row on a cheap deal... He's going to want to cash in

Your not understanding. Pettersson can be replaced easily. Also again, were in a win now mode, bot trade our guys that are expiring soon to sign worse players for cheaper. Dumo is one of the best TOP PAIRING LD in the entire league. Were not trading him for a bag of pucks

Coleman has won two Cups in a row - lots of teams will overpay him. He doesn't need to go to the worst-run organization in the sport to get $4M x 4.

Ullmark will get $4M in free agency and he knows it. He's not signing in Buffalo for less.

Kings will do that if it's a sign and trade and it's under $7M x 5+

I'm sure an extension would be worked out but I don't know if he'd take less than 7. Maybe he'd do 5 for 6.5

I'd move Kupari and the 8th overall for him under $7, but I have a feeling he wants to negotiate after the trade which is my chief concern. It also should be noted that Blake will aggressively be going after top-6 free agents so not sure this trade gets done by the draft.

With the extremely tight financial market this season, a qualifying offer of $5.2M, and only one year away from UFA, I can't see any situation where Reinhart would sign an extension with a team he's traded to unless they significantly overpay. All he has to do is file for arbitration, take his 1-year award, and then he can go on the open market next summer when the economy is expected to be much better.

LA shouldn't give up the #8 overall to a player that is likely to be gone next summer.
