My Dream Leafs 21-22

Description
Not sure how realistic but give Seattle Engvall and a 3rd to get them to select Dermott.

Send Mikheyev to Vancouver to lose salary and recoup a couple picks.

The Minnesota trade... Highly doubt they'd move Foligno and Dumba especially retaining salary but now that they've freed up space maybe bringing in Rielly to replace Suter and Kerfoot could take Foligno's spot and then hometown boy Holl can solidify their back end. There's been rumours of Dumba potentially being moved out for years.

The reason this is appealing is it'd be cool if we could get Marcus in order to appeal to Nick signing back here to create an absolutely beautiful 3rd line of the Foligno's with McCann.

Frees up the money to sign Landeskog to a healthy amount of money to make him happy for one year, can't imagine him getting that anywhere else unless he takes a smaller number for term but a chance to play with Matthews and Marner for a season to really rack up his points for a contract next year? Could be enticing.

Also Robertson in a top 6 role is a wild card... I've got Sandin as 3rd pair but if he's ready to take a top 4 role, Oleksiak could be 3rd pair/be able to be 2nd pair. I like his game. Good Toronto boy to add grit to the back end too. Good protectionay.

Having both Foligno's would be good for grit as well.

Overall we would have a way more tenacious... enthusiastic... solid... skilled team to make a good run for next season and then likely needing to move on from Landeskog... money is freed up to sign McCann... Sandin.. Liljegren.. and Campbell for the following season with hopes that Robertson is established and maybe Amirov can step in. Boom! That's a spicy squad.

Engvall is essentially no value and a third in 2023 doesn’t move the needle. Probably need to give this years second for them to take Dermott over McCann or Kerfoot and even that might not be enough.

Mikheyev is worth a 5 or 6, not two picks.

Wild aren’t doing that trade even without retention so not shot with the retention.

Vancouver passes. Plenty of options in free agency.
