I don't see a point in doing this for NYI.

Drouin makes that deal a no way. Can't foresee them bringing in Drouin. If anything they are trade Beauvillier for picks and players on a cheap contract. I'd imagine They are making room for a big add if they end up trading Beauvillier. Considering they are going to lose Eberle/Bailey in expansion.

The fact that they’re losing eberle/bailey in expansion means they won’t trade Beauvillier . He’s a core player

There is a big rumor out that they are looking to make a big addition (Landeskog). Another rumor that they are sending Komarov in addition to Eberle for a price to Seattle. I agree Beauvillier is unlikely to get traded, but there is now rumors he's being shopped to Montreal, and my point was if thats true then NYI are looking to make a huge move (probably Landeskog), because thats over 8 mil going to Seattle, and then Beauvillier being traded, makes his next contract no longer an issue as well. Plenty of wiggle room to bring Landeskog and some other cheaper forwards/defensemen to fill out the roster.

If they are really going after Landeskog then it actually makes a lot of sense.

EDIT: I should rephrase the above. He's not being shopped. Montreal is the one doing the inquiring, which is a huge difference. But regardless if they do make that sort of deal, its make a run at a big name like Landeskog.

I can't even see them trading Beauvillier even if they go for Landeskog. Beauvillier is their only lw under 25 and they have no lw prospects with top 6 upside. Also Beauvillier + Barzal are very close, no shot barzal re-signs if they trade beauvillier.

very fair, I wonder if they explore trading whoever Seattle doesn't take. I've just read a lot of them being the team for Landeskog if it isn't a return to the Avs.

And if they do get LAndeskog... That team will be so brutal. Anders Lee and Landeskog on the top lines...and when their respective lines head off the ice you're only to be met with a 4th line of killers like Clutterbuck and Martin.

I personally think Eberle is gone either way, which is unfortunate. He's very underrated. Landeskog would be a solid pickup if its for 8 mill, I really don't want to pay him 9-9.5 mill , he's not worth that.

You're more optimistic about the 4th line than I am haha

Killers in term of the actual physical pain they put on their opponents. Not saying they are skilled players or anything. ahaha. IF you all added Landeskog, the physicality of an already physical team would just be off the charts is my point.
