Can get more in the Buch trade, for sure. That package is a tough pill to swallow if you're a Buffalo fan, but I don't think you're far off on the value...just feels like they need a headliner as opposed to multiple nice pieces.

Wouldn’t trading Ryan Strome elsewhere help fit Jack Eichel more effectively?

I feel like Buffalo is in a disadvantage right now to be asking for that. Not many teams are still in on Eichel

I’m not sure Strome will get the kind of return that would give Buffalo an even bigger incentive

I wished the Rangers drafted Wahlstrom over Kravtsov. Because Kravtsov isn’t looking very promising.

You're probably right but my goodness the thought of a 24 year old franchise number 1 center being traded for that package is nuts haha

I’ve honestly become lost with the price of Eichel at this point. The reported consensus from insiders has repeatedly been 2 NHLers and 2 top prospects and/or 1st round draft picks.

If a top prospect is interchangeable with a 1st, that doesn’t equal a headliner of a prospect. It equals a “nice piece” as you worded it

Wait, I’m confused. You have Pavel Buchnevich in a trade outside of the Eichel one. What would Ryan Strome’s return have to do with Buffalo’s incentive to trade Eichel?

Oh I thought you meant a 3 way trade Ryan strome going to a 3rd team and more going to Buffalo. But let’s say Ryan Strome is traded instead of Buchnevich, how do u fit Zib , Kakko and Fox with almost no cap space?

I've said since day 1, Kakko Lundkvist and the 2021 1st is the ideal package IMO. That's obviously way too much now given what we know about his neck injury. But at this point why would Adams trade him at a discounted rate? It's not like his neck isn't healing with each day- the only one who thinks he needs surgery is Eichel himself. Everyone else, 3rd party docs included, say he can rehab it. So idk, maybe they hang onto him, make a decision at the end of the month on what to surgery wise, and take it from there. Total ****show of a situation though

The Kreider and Trouba deal are biting them at every turn.

Yup I was about to make a post on that. Signing Buch for 6 x 6 would make it impossible to keep the core and still acquire Eichel .

Kakko isn’t eligible for arbitration that offseason. I’m pretty sure he’s going to ppay under a QO in 2022-23. It’s what Tony DeAngelo did in 2019-20 for reference

Yeah but a 3 mill raise for Mika and like 8 for Fox and you still can’t move Kreider, Trouba, Zib, Panarin, Shesterkin etc

Florida declines. Tippets going to be good, made progress this year. He’s RFA after next year, but without arbitration rights, so his price won’t be to bad. We need that to help sign Barkov and Huberdeau.

Wait, Kakko Lundkvist and #15 is way too MUCH? That’s basically equivalent to the 2 NHLers and 2 of top prospects/firsts if you count Kaapo Kakko as the same value of 2 roster players

Kravtsov is going to be a stud. Look at how any young, non American forward did under Quinn - awful.

He had a great season in the KHL, looked good his first few games, then got Quinned.

Paying those prices for Fox and Zibanejad leaves about $4M. I’ve done a bunch of experimental 2022-23 rosters

Filip Chytil and Pavel Buchnevich were perfectly fine under David Quinn.
