Contending team part two

Team: 2021-22 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 20, 2021
Published: Jul. 20, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Kerfoot taken in expansion draft. Justifications for trades: Konecky is tougher than Nylander and puts up as many points. Bertuzzi and Greenway bring more size and grittiness as well as great offensive upside and still pretty young. Sandin is NOT Rielly, but could put up a ton of points on the PP, and the signing of Martinez should help with the loss, and is more defensively well rounded than Rielly. Due to chemistry issues, will probably be a first round exit, but could be a serious contender down the line. Kahkonen is a great young goaltender who should fill in nicely as a backup. Fantastic top 9 with a top prospect playing on the 4th line in Robertson, should get PP time. Cap flexibility.

you're right, let's get rid of our two highest scoring playoff forwards to contend

You've seen Konecky and Bertuzzi's past offensive stats right? And Leafs don't contend in the playoffs, that's the point of the trades.

No way the wild does that. Foligno is going to be a assistant captain and just signed an extension. Also the wild are signing his brother. Also that is a massive over-payment for Nylander.

Actually it's a nice lineup, and cap complaint. But geez the Leafs have given too many futures. Don't know why you would think the non playoff performers that are acquired are better than the ones you have traded or given away...well this is seems to be the culture in LeafLand.

Wild very easily decline would rather keep my entire second/first line basically over someone who gets carried by actual superstar

That’s not close for Travis Konecny

Wouldn’t be a leafs AGM without a god awful Tyler Bertuzzi trade
