Huge overpayment by the Rangers.

Maybe something like Logan and Connor for Strome and a 3rd.

ehh, we need centre help for sure but moving 2 years of c brown for 1 of strome probably hurts more than it helps we have basically no RW depth

I just really hope Sens don't trade for a mediocre C like Strome or Monahan. Sign a Wennberg instead. Trade for a good Dman

Strome + 5th for Connor + TB 2nd in 2022?

His would mean rangers have another deal dealing Buchnevich for a C, most likely.

Connor Brown is the type of middle 6 winger Rangers should be adding.

Stromes leadership is underrated. He could be great with those kids.

If it’s RW depth, a kid like Pajuniemi might be of interest. Was an absolute sniper the last few seasons in Europe, but probably won’t get a chance with the Rangers RW depth.

Ive seen this idea abound, but it was my understanding that this would be a bigger part of a deal for the Rangers to land Eichel.

So NYR is trying to make cap space, as well as increase the value of the pick they are throwing at Buffalo.

I think OTT would need to add a bit of pick value 3rd etc

To me it's fool hearted to try and make the playoffs as some reporters are suggesting that's what the Sens front office wants to do. The young guys are still growing, and a Monahan doesn't really push them that much further. Probably gone when he's a UFA anyway. Now a long term RHD to play with Chabot? That's a different story, they're harder to find. I don't expect the Sens to make the playoffs and frankly another top 10 pick, especially in the 22 draft would be awesome. It's full of studs. I look at the 23 season as to when they start having real playoff aspirations.

But Connor Brown is the type of middle 6 winger the Sens should be keeping... especially with how he played with Paul at Worlds

Idk I just don't think Strome should require Ottawa adding their 1st. Even if it's only moving back, I would prefer to keep the pick where it is, then offer something like Jarventie and A 2nd. There are quality options still at 10 that won't be there at 15, and Strome just isn't the player I would be willing to pass up those options for.

I don’t want to move 10 for Reinhart and Strome isn’t close to as good as him so I’m automatically not a fan, even though we’re ultimately just moving back a bit. I wouldn’t pay more than 2nd+3rd for Strome, he’s been terrible for his entire career with the exception of when he plays with Panarin. Since we don’t have Panarin I’m really not that interested at all, especially if it involves any kind of key piece like Jarventie or 10oa. I also like Connor Brown more than I like Strome straight up lol

yeah im a big strome fan tbh, just him for brown would be such a lateral move for a team trying to get better now im not sure it makes a ton of sense for us. adding a 2c would be big but to lose out on our top special teams player at a major position of need at the NHL level hurts a lot too

big fan of pajuniemi though, hes going to be a really nice player

i mean to an extent though, monahan is an instant upgrade weather at 2 or 3c and is only 26 so an extension would leave him with good years left at a position we dont have a ton of prospects coming up at. I wouldnt mind a higher pick next year either with that draft class but at some point you need to commit to competing otherwise everyone will just get complacent. the problem with finding a long term partner for chabot is that anyone who truly fits that bill is probably not available

yeah im with you on Connor brown i wouldn't go 1 for 1, if the extra piece to get 15Th OA + strome for 10Th oa isint absurd id probaly be on board with it though, i dont think theres a huge drop off between 10 and 15 this year and its kind of a wash anyways
