That Defense is scary bad, Ullmark walks, 0% chance Armia signs here, and you traded the 2 best forwards on the team for 3rd liners, 2 of which are on the top line, but at least you got dmen back for no reason

Not usually for a 1st to dump cap but if both of those contracts went away it's a no brainer.

5.5 for 5 years for ullmark is a ton, i dont even want him if thats the cost, plus, you may be right, he probably can get close to that (shorter term) on a team where he wont see 35 shots a game- half of them high danger.

I dont think money will sway him, players who have been in Buffalo for a few years dont want to be here, plus Adams wants to purge players that openly dont want to be here

I am not sure what you expect to happen. Getting young players is the best option. Sabres are not as strong on Defense as people say and need to get some young dman back. They can flip Kilak at deadline and have bryson or another young dman play in his spot. Getting young forwards who were high picks with playing time is what is best for sabres and will fit the new core. With picks this team could make a proper rebuild.

The Sabres have good D prospects, they have 9 Dmen under the age of 24, 10 if they take Power. If anything they need veteran Dmen not more kids. They need a ridiculous amount of forward prospects, take the best and flip the other ones if any, Wright nor Lambert are walking on to this team and fixing the forward group, its Eichel all over again.
