I’d have to guess Zadarov and Stecher because for some reason they are going defence heavy.

Gotta think that at least a few of these have side deals attached, right? If this is the team that's picked, and there's nothing else coming, Francis failed big time.

Well there goes another random pick. They better be getting a lot of picks and stuff for their atrocious selections….

Depends on what you consider a ‘side deal’

I actually highly doubt you see many side deals, at all if you define that as a trade to have Seattle not pick a specific player. Based on the reported asks from Seattle, think teams called Francis’s bluff and cut their losses.

Think Seattle’s strategy here is clearly prioritizing cap space to attack the market and get additional assets. I think the ‘side deals’ most likely are coming after the expansion draft.

Your take on Bean is opposite from NHL GMs. Hoping the Canes find one GM who thinks like you and will pay for Bean like a top 4 defenseman.

Press box forward for the Canes…3rd line right shot center on an expansion team. RFA with a league min 2-way contract.

Bean needs a new RFA contract also.

I don’t think Bean is as free as you think. He requires waivers and you’re locking him in. I don’t think there is a big of a trade market value IRL NHL vs perceived in the public.

Passing on Bean and Kahkonen is a crime.

Francis inability to flip big names is obvious. See PHI, CLB, NAS, MTL, PIT, OTT, VAN.

They went for the cap minimum. Whatch out, IMO they will sign at least 3 high end fowards. My guess: Saad, Danault, Schwartz. The might already have handshake agreements

Talk about barely hitting the cap floor. Definitely some unexpected names if these rumors are true.

ppl were talking yesterday abt Danault signing w Seattle. I think he has a handshake deal but Seattle didn't want him as their pick from MTL (but confused as to why they would've been so desperate for Fleury if that's the case, would've understood Drouin, Price, or even Kulak, but Fleury?)

Because Habs gave something up to make him the pick ?

Getting the 2 brothers to play together!?

Or maybe the Kraken is in the race, but Danault wants to see what kind of offers are out there...

Fair enough. It's an interesting strategy for sure, if it actually happens. As it stands right now, this team looks like what you'd expect a 90's expansion team to look like tears of joy

They have an entire team of 3rd liners Bean has Shea Theodore potential

ST plays to his size, Bean plays smaller than his size.
