if the avs cant sign Landy, hes not signing 8m in Montreal. You have to get to his asking price of 9-10m. And avs do not want Drouin, especially to assist Montreal to singing him
They do not care about reuniting him. let that dream die already

also if Avs dont sign landy, they wont be letting Saad walk for only 4m aav

What was the latest offer from the Avs for Gabe? As far as I see it (a fan of neither Montreal or Colorado, but someone who would be VERY interested in having Gabe join my favorite team -- LA), the max deal he got was on the order of approx. $45 mil (the 5.5-6mil x 8 years). To me, I see a very real possibility of someone hitting an 8mil cap hit for Gabe if they can offer the 7th year. I agree this MTL offer doesn't get it done because it's too similar to the Avs offered one, and why would he leave COL for a paltry 3mil?

But if a team like the Kings or Islanders or others came to him with an offer of 7years x $8mil for a total of $56mil? That's over almost 20% more than what he was getting offered from Colorado. I could see him going after an offer like that.

I feel like we're doomed to get at least one Drouin to the Avs mock trade until either he or Mack retires

No that was not the max deal he was offered, that was just bad reporting. They opened with a discussion about Nuge deal, it wasnt their only offical long term offier.
The last one being they offered him 7x7 before the XD lists were submitted, and he turned it down. Plus he did say he would be willing to give the Avs a hometown discount.

Cool, thanks for the info. I didn't hear about the 7x7. Kind of surprised he turned that down.

yeah it was mentioned by the guys at DNVR, they are the best beat coverage for the Avs. On their podcast before the lists went in they were able to confirm that landys market ask of 9-10m was accurate and the latest deal the Avs made was 7x7, using the Andres Lee deal as a comparable. They came back and said Lee is not a comparable.

I think Its 7.5mx8 that gets it done. Anymore I think they just need to walk away. Marek and Friedman kind of mentioned 60m as a contract value, I think that is what they need to hit

Next question is how in the heck does Colorado make that work with Grubauer and Makar still needing contracts? Woof.

Makar is easy, he gets paid. I think the budget plan 18m for Makar and Landy.

Grubauer they are not sold on bringing him back at market value. They were trying to get him at 5m aav. He wants to come back to colorado bad, but Avs arent in a rush to give him the money and are exploring the goalie market, like wiht Kuemper as an example. The DNVR guys mentioned that on the pod when they checked in on the grubi talks
