I rather Fiala than Dumba. Would wild to Fiala for KK as the base of the trade?

Possibly after the draft. I think they want to give everything they have to sign him. Otherwise KK and the 22 1st would be good.

I gotta say, I don’t know if the Wild make the playoffs with this defense. It’s not bad but stripping it for marginal upgrades up front is a risky move.

Also, wild can get Jesperi K for way way less. He's not even worth dumba considering Jesperi had numerous scratches because he wasn't good including final few games of Stanley cup games

Dude, Kotkaniemi turned 21 this summer and has finished his ELC. He was scratched for reasons unknown, but he’s valued. The question is by how much and by whom?

Agreed, but I think it will cost a high end roster player to get it done. Somebody that adds more now than KK does. That’s Fiala on the Wild.

Montreal would have to be crazy to do it, KK is way more valuable. Greenway is a hard eval because there likely isn’t anything more to him but he is very big and a good complementary piece. I think you’re looking at a Kunin style return if he does get moved.

Question? Is it too crazy that with the return nick foligno got, greenway can get more?

Foligno was traded under the pressures of the trade deadline. When you see a path to the cup at the deadline, you value the present much more than the future and your success actually makes the pick you trade worth less. Out of season, there is much more risk in giving up a high asset value and there are many other options from a team building perspective.

All this is to say that teams do weird things at the deadline and no, Greenway will not get more than Foligno.

Greenway and the Pitt 1st for Kokkaniemi?

I mean, value wise it probably works but I don’t think it makes sense to move Kotkaniemi for anything less than a player of his own level. Maybe they use the assets to get a guy like Hertl or Kuzy?

I know I sound like a broken record, but if we are keeping the transaction to just the Wild and the Habs then the only player that moves the needle is Fiala. If we think KK can jump into the top 6 right now, I think that’s a knockout.
