Contract-for-contract, most likely. It doesn't have to be a cap dump, b/c we're not desperate for space. Maybe someone like Brett Connolly, Evgeni Dadonov, Andreas Johnsson, or Gustav Nyqvist.

Nah, no need. With the Geekie selection, we can just reallocate the Gardiner salary to the bottom-6 via a contract-for-contract trade. I'd go for Dadonov or Nyqvist, personally.

Please tell me you didn’t just say Oleksiak was better than Heiskanen. Bowness was shoving Heiskanen in bad things all year round, he specifically asked him to not shoot and only play defence not offence, like wtf. Also as a Stars fan I’ve watched more games from them then the majority of people on here and I can guarantee you Heiskanen carry’s him like you wouldn’t believe.

look at their analytics. heiskenen did worse without oleksiak.

One season where he looked like he belonged on the 2nd pairing...otherwise a 3rd pairing dman... now he may keep playing at that level- but he is being paid like its a sure thing- for a long time.

He's a Top 4 guy at best. 4.6 Million for 5 years with a No trade clause. I don't see the point of this. Honestly Oleksiak is a good player, but he's not worth this much, but it might just be to get above the cap floor who knows.

And i thought Larsson's deal was bad... This deal is way worse, Oleksiak is a 2nd pair d at best, offensively he is not good at all, defensively he is ok but not for that term for sure. And he has NTC as well🤦🏻‍♂️.
