Thought it would be around 3 million. The NTC is what really hurts on this one. Can't necessarily say this is a great signing.

Some will see this as an overpayment, but I can see what Seattle is going for. The guy is HUGE and has great skates for his size. Risky deal, though. I'll still call this good, however. He'll be a top contributor for Seattle, I think.

His game fits on a lot of defenses, though. 6'7" with skates isn't exactly a common commodity.

It isn't just the height, though, with Oleksiak. It's the skating relative to size.
