I'd think it would be just Dumba for Zacha if Devils did that deal.
Seems like about an even swap.
Don't think Wild would have to add those other pieces.

i mean the value for the devils trade is certainly there, but the pieces don’t pique the interest of the devils. as a team in a rebuild, we’d like some younger pieces or prospects in place of dumba. i’d take someone like marat or calen addison in dumba’s place, while also taking on rask’s contract, and maybe a 2nd for 3rd swap:

calen + rask + 2nd
zacha + 3rd

Fair enough wasn't sure on the exact value. I threw in the pick to compensate for part of the Rask cap dump???

Eeek yeah wild def aren’t doing Addison and a 2nd for Zacha + 3rd. The main idea here to lose Dumbas salary. If he’s out, Wild lose interest pretty quickly.

If the Wild were going to trade Addison, which I don't see them doing, they'd want a better C coming back than Zacha. Which NJ wouldn't want to part with a better C.

well in that trade we're taking on rask's salary. take out the pick swap, if you wish:
zacha
rask, addison

marat instead of calen is also viable

im not sure we have a better C than zacha, aside from nico and jack, who are untouchable.
the idea is that the devils take on rask's salary and get calen in exchange for a young(ish) 3C with 2C potential (albeit doubtfully). it seems fair?

Yep I agree. The two better centres NJ are untouchable. Addison projects as a top line RD who runs the 1st unit powerplay, so I don't see him getting traded unless another high celling player is coming back. Also the Wild's GM specially targeted trading for him so don't really see Addison getting moved.

Looking at our centers, from least likely to move to most likely....

1a. Hughes: stays
1b. Hischier: stays
3. Sharangovich: will be 3C for NJD eventually (once he learns how to win faceoffs), but is the most untouchable after Hughes and Hischier.
4. Mercer: Good fit for MIN, but tough to pry loose considering the season he just had.
5. Zacha: best offensively at wing...was a ppg winger on Nico's line, but less than 0.5 ppg as a center this year.
6. Kuokkanen: Plays center adequately, well-suited for Wild as two-way playmaker that won't command huge salary.
7. Boqvist: Maybe, lotta upside, but lotta unknowns in his game.
8. Merkley: Probably starts in Bastian's old place in line-up, but definitely moveable.
9. Zetterlund: Depth guy
10. Schnarr: big body, can't skate, take him

I don't know that Zacha is best fit here to be their center.
If I were Wild, I would be going after Kuok or Mercer.
Or doing smaller deal like O'Rourke for Boqvist.

i see sharan playing the wing tbh, but yeah could def be a 3C.

holtz - hughes - mercer
bratt - hischier - zacha
foote - sharan - kuok
moyni - clarke/gritsyuk - thompson

is probably a future lineup. anyone of zacha, foote, kuok, and the 4th line is pretty replacable. bratt, hughes, and hischier likely come off as untouchable, with sharan, holtz, and mercer being quite close.

That looks like 2024 lineup for sure.
I think Gritsyuk will be a off-handed RW.

With that personnel...and 2021 draft pick...just imagine...

Eklund -- Hughes -- Holtz
Zacha -- Hischier -- Bratt
Foote -- Sharangovich -- Gritsyuk
Kuokkanen -- Mercer -- Clarke

Future is bright.
