They would've signed Landy in the past few days if they had a chance, not gonna happen now

Don't think so. They prob wanted Donskoi as well, so are waiting.

Not many teams have enough cap to give Landeskog that ridiculous contract. I think Seattle will.

Avs can and would match that. Beyond that, the Avs are now the only team that can give him 8 years. Finally, what would be at all enticing to Landeskog about Seattle right now? They had a chance to build a decent roster and purposefully chose not to. There's no incentive beyond a hypothetical Eichel trade

Seattle ain't giving up the second overall pick for Eichel. They can sign a UFA(s) and keep the picks and be much better off.
Landeskog and Eichel make 17m in this posts. Maybe Landeskog and Denault making 14m and keeping their picks makes far more sense now and in the future for Seattle. Plus they still have cap to sign Hamilton. Now I'm saying Seattle should go "all in" this year spending on UFAs. Maybe some potential UFAs next season look enticing, more value for Seattle.

Match what? He's a UFA...If they wanted to give him (Landeskog) that ridiculous contract they would have by now - Sakic is smarter than that.

What in the world are you talking about haha. Seattle's defense, especially if they get Hamilton, is going to be pretty darn good. If they sign Landeskog too they will have a low-cost forward group as well with flexibility. This is definitely a decent roster.

Landy has said he wants to stay in Colorado, so my assumption is that he'd give the Avs the chance to match an offer. I could obviously be wrong though.

As for the roster you're talking about, yeah, they have loads of cap room, but they gave up picking better players for no reason whatsoever (case and point being the DET, PHI, and LAK picks). They'll be decent defensively but will struggle offensively (2nd best forward being Gourde). In a terrible pacific division, they're probably a fringe playoff team at best. Vegas, Edmonton, and Vancouver will likely be better. So then they're stuck in the Calgary zone where they're mediocre and hoping for decent draft picks in the two strong draft years ahead. If they got Hamilton or Eichel, yeah, definitely a little more appealing, but if I were a UFA, I'd want to see those dominoes fall before I signed on the dotted line.

The Avs clearly don't want to pay him what he's asking (rightfully so). Pretty obvious at this point he will not be an Av. Landeskog is clearly more interested in money than winning.

You're failing to take into account what type of deals Francis has in place for taking those guys. A lot left to unfold.

You sure about that? It sounds like they're slowly closing in on a middle ground. https://twitter.com/STLBluesChirp/status/1418218254342914053

O no doubt that there's a lot left to unfold, but name another team that can offer Landy the same money and the chance at a cup. Isles? They've got a bunch of guys to sign, but possible. St. Louis? The money might be there, but competitive? No. Florida Panthers? Possible, but limited cap space. Seattle can offer money, but with the team they fielded, I genuinely don't think they're competing right away. This isn't another Vegas scenario. Especially since Francis failed to pry assets away in the XD.

Haha I don't even understand what you're arguing anymore.
