TOR
  1. Miller, K'Andre
  2. Strome, Ryan
Additional Details:
Why this makes sense for the leafs:
1. With rumours that NYR was interested in flipping Strome for Giordano means they are willing to part with Strome and are OK taking on cap. In this deal, the leafs would be clearing close to 3 million in cap space which is most important here.

2. I do not believe they have any intention in resigning Rielly after next season so I think the right move is to flip him now. His next contract will be closer to 6.5 million and will probably be looking at an 8 year contract which I don’t think the leafs should entertain.

3. Bringing in Strome to replace Kerfoot adds a lot of depth to their centre position which was a weakness for them during the playoffs when Tavares got injured.

4. Miller seems like a good fit on the leafs. Could slot on the 2nd pairing for the time being and be a good penalty killer. He does have big upside but with the Emergence of Fox in NYR, seems like one of their young D become available.

5. Taking that cap space an adding somebody I think they must go after.
NYR
  1. Kerfoot, Alexander
  2. Rielly, Morgan
Additional Details:
Why this makes sense for NYR:

1. Although taking on a bit of cap for this year, can re-examine what to do with Rielly next season and have Kerfoot for 2 more seasons under a fair contract.

2. Can give a bigger role for Chytil who can potentially have better chemistry with Lafreniere and Kaako.

3. Rielly slots perfectly on that top pair with Fox or the second pair with Trouba.

4. Not sure if I need to add a draft pick or prospect to make this more fair but I believe this would make both teams satisfied.

Doesn't make sense to have 21 man roster. Reilly and Kerfoot doesn't help which is quite tight. the Rangers cap and their future over Strome and Miller.
I never understand the logic that the Leafs have to trade Reilly because he leaving next summer. Then why would another team want him applying the same logic?
