I think if we move Meier Wilson is likely looking for a center around the same age. NJ has Zacha and that makes sense.

Pavel Zacha just had the best season of his career, recording 35 points in 50 games (0.7 PPG) playing the majority of the season at LW.

Timo Meier just had 31 points in 54 games (.57 PPG).

Devils aren't moving Zacha in a deal for Meier because that would kind of be a lateral move. Devils want to add to their young core

So Meier's worst season statistically is a **** hair worse than Zacha's best season. I see why this move doesn't work for NJ

Sharks decline everyday and every night. Nothing you want to give us is worth Meier

I would add Mercer to that package, but even then I don't think the Sharks do it...hard to figure out his price with the ebbs and flows of his career.

Totally fair, my view and the one I hope Doug takes is that you just don’t sell on an off year. If someone pays what he would get in a good year, sure take it, but don’t let someone sell you low because of a bad year. Do what the jets did with Laine and hold out for a fair deal if you really need to move him
