1. Owen Power (Buffalo Sabres) (Details: Power is very good but this draft class is weak and I’m not sure if he will ever become an elite player.).
2. William Eklund (Seattle Kraken) (Details: Eklund is the most skilled forward in the draft. Seattle can also take Beniers here but I would take the much more skilled winger over the center. I know taking a center over a winger is usually always better, but in my opinion, Eklund is on another level.).
3. Matthew Beniers (Anaheim Ducks) (Details: The Ducks will be extremely happy if Beniers falls to them at pick #3. Beniers is going to be a great NHL player for years to come but I’m not sure if he will ever hit that elite level. I could see him becoming a player that can jump up to first line center when needed but he will be a solid second line center.).
4. Luke Hughes (New Jersey Devils) (Details: New Jersey just keeps stacking up the prospects and they will be extremely happy to take Luke Hughes here. Luke will fit in nicely with players like Damon Severson and Ty Smith, and of course he will be on the same team as his brother.).
5. Mason McTavish (Columbus Blue Jackets) (Details: There are rumors that Columbus wants a defenseman or a center. I’ve heard that they are interested in drafting Mason McTavish with this pick. McTavish has high upside and this could be an absolute steal of a pick for Columbus, especially needing centers badly. If they take a defenseman, it’ll be Simon Edvinsson.).
6. Kent Johnson (Detroit Red Wings) (Details: Yzerman is doing an awesome job with rebuilding the Red Wings so far. The Red Wings have some pretty good defensive prospects and now it’s time to grab another offensive prospect. Kent Johnson is the perfect fit for Detroit, especially since Michael Rasmussen didn’t turn out to be good.).
7. Dylan Guenther (San Jose Sharks) (Details: The Sharks need future goal scorers and I think they found their guy here. Guenther has so much potential and he’s going to light up the league for years to come.).
8. Brandt Clarke (Los Angeles Kings) (Details: I know Edvinsson is still on the board here but I think the Kings will add a RHD with this pick if they don’t end up trading it. The Kings have an amazing offensive prospect pool, one of the best in the league. If they add Clarke here, watch out for this Kings team in the future.).
9. Simon Edvinsson (Vancouver Canucks) (Details: Edvinsson falls to the Canucks at pick #9. He will fit nicely behind Quinn Hughes. I would be shocked if they don’t take a defenseman with this pick because they have the worst defense in the league.).
10. Jesper Wallstedt (Ottawa Senators) (Details: The Senators already have a very deep prospect pool, so it’s time to add a goalie. Wallstedt has franchise potential.).
12. Sebastian Cossa (Chicago Blackhawks) (Details: The Hawks are going to panic when they see that Wallstedt is off the board so they will draft Cossa with this pick. Cossa is a very good goaltender and he will be the future starter for an NHL team. I don’t think he will become as good as Wallstedt but it’s still an amazing pick for a team that lacks goaltending depth/prospects.).
13. Cole Sillinger (Calgary Flames) (Details: Future Monahan replacement, or he will be the center behind him. Very good pick by the Flames.).
14. Chaz Lucius (Philadelphia Flyers) (Details: Steal of a pick for the Flyers here. Lucius has battled some injuries but he’s an offensive force and the Flyers could use that in the near future.).
15. Brennan Othmann (Dallas Stars) (Details: Othmann is another player that is very good offensively. He did very good when he played in the Swiss league and he may be NHL ready in the near future.).
