If Rask ends up playing second half of season the cap space is available for him with some left over for TDL.

Bringing in Jarnkrok for DeBrusk creates more cap space and gives Bruins a player better suited for 3rd line duty.

Use that additional cap space + to sign Coleman, a bona fide 3rd line winger for a team with Stanley Cup aspirations.

Tried to add missing qualities to defense with size in Cole and Bogosian and all around play with Murray who was Jersey's only + defenseman this year.

Islanders second line outplayed Bruins second line in playoffs. Hyman upgrades that and Smith upgrades third line and can also legitimately play up in lineup.

Signed both Murray and Oleksiak as essentials in case Carlo cannot get past concussion woes.

For cap purposes only tied to Jarnkrok for this year hoping Lauko comes in next year on ELC making room to resign Studnicka. Krejci playing just one more season opens up money for McAvoy. After this season buying out Moore if needed should save close to 2M. Cap will be tight but doable.

Signing free agents gives DS a small window to draft players to come in on ELC's in one to two years to make cap work into the future.
