So how does that Eichel trade make the ducks closer to a SC contender?

No from LA. If Reinhart comes along with an extension, then he's worth a 1st round pick. If you want Kupari, then downgrade the pick to a 2nd.

If you want more than that, trade him elsewhere.

Lol you must not have watched Reinart play. He's a top line player on most teams (Kings included) Can play center or wing, 11th in goals last year and ultra elite hockey sense. He's only 25 too... He's worth a 1st a solid prospect

Gives them a top ten NHL player in his prime

I've seen him play plenty. You're welcome to trade him elsewhere if that's the return you're looking for. LA isn't interested.

Look how that’s worked out for BUF. If the ducks trade half of their top 6 and 3oa for Eichel they’re further from contention than just keeping the players. Eichel only helps if they keep Zegras because then the foundation is set down the middle and they can fill in the holes from there. Swapping Zegras for Eichel just limits the window of competing.

Zegras isn't going anywhere. If the Ducks did this trade they would simply be west coast Buffalo
