Paid too many assets and too much cap hit. Don't like how Bowman has panicked or alternatively let Toews and or Kane dictate how to run the team. We should have stayed the course and focused on the young kids, prospects and draft picks. That Jones contract is not going to look good as he enters into his 30s....he plays a punishing game and that puts miles on a player.
As for the rest, Johnson is an upgrade to Kampf but age and cap hit don't justify.
Hinostroza walking to sign the enforcer from the oilers doesn't make sense either, speed is more important and forchecking and Hino has that in spades.
Letting a proven good player in Suter go was a mistake for the cap hit he was asking for. Should have moved Strome and kept Suter who is way more versatile
Betting on Borgstrom, Nylander and or Gaudette, none have proven much in the NHL yet, is risky. One should emerge, two if we are lucky, but giving up Hino wasn't needed.
