Description
Brought back Rittich because why not.

As for the trades the Dumba trade was one that had some legs in the past and with Gio gone we definitely need to look to fill that gap.

Johnson fills the gap left by Monahan and saves us some cap space for that 2nd C position and gives us an extra year at that price. Might make signings down the road a litttle easier.

I'm open to feedback on the value for the two trades. Moreso Dumba given the Lightning are known to need cap space and we saw what Ghost cost to move. It's not exactly the same situation which is why I sent something back.

Ultimately though, we need to get our extensions figured out before any big moves can resonably be made. Here there's more than enough space for Gaudreau and Tkachuk.

I think trading Dumba is off the table after the Suter buyout. As for Monahan, I’d go Bennett like return at the most. He’s a big cap hit.

I mean love sean Monahan but fair or not wild gm has zero interest in Sean Monahan

Also right now, dumba is very much like Marcus foligno, Ryan Hartman to wild gm bill Guerin. In dumba's own words:

"Bill told me he wants me back,,and was going to do everything possible to make sure he stays a wild. " after season ending meeting

So in essence, dumba isn't available

If Dumba is off the block that's fair enough.

But in terms of return, Bennett is no where near Monahan numbers. A second (next year) and a prospect is laughable for Monahan. And, for the record, a Monahan/Dumba flip is a negligible cap swing so that has no bearing in a trade like this.

I’m just speculating. I agree that Dumba for Monahan is pretty close but both guys don’t seem to have the interest to get a 1st and change back. As crazy as it sounds I think that’s what you’d see these guys move for if they do move.
