Probably lol, but I didn't know what to do with Jones since he doesn't have a spot here with Soucy and he (Dvorak) is exactly what we need, would the yotes 2nd instead change anything?

It’s not that much of an overpay. A good backup goalie, a LD prospect that doesn’t have a roster spot long term (and has competition from Robertson in about a year), and a young C who hasn’t been able to put it all together yet for a great 3C/good 2C who kills penalties and plays in front of the net on the powerplay. Seems pretty fair to me, especially if the high second round pick is coming back

Chytil is 4 years younger, and will be cheaper for at least the next two to three years. In what way is Dvorak an upgrade outside of faceoffs? And please don't say "he has more point,!" because these past two years Chytil was 36th out of all centers who played at least 40 games in P/60 with 1.92. Dvorak is 90th at 1.57. If the two had comparable minutes, Chytil would have more points. I want Dvorak too but not because I want to downgrade from Chytil to Dvorak, but because I don't think the Rangers can afford Strome's next contract so figure it's better to trade Strome now and get our 3C for the next few years.

Part of the reason I got Dvorak was because of how cheap his deal is (for a 2C) and for how long, it lets him move into 2C seamlessly once Strome leaves and then Goodrow, Barron or Svechkov/whoever we pick at 15 takes over, cost certainty is going to be huge for us in the next few years
