I don't think they'd do 19th OA + Myers just to move up 9 spots. Hard to tell with Nashville exactly what they'd be looking for though. Myers sort of fills that Ellis hole, which was probably the main reason why they targetted him in that trade.

I can't see Poile flipping Myers at this point. That's not terrible value, would probably need a bit more on OTT side though, but I don't see it happening.

And there will still be a lot of good players available at 19, so I don't think this is the draft to move up in. Too many interchangeable names and no real a consensus on player draft position, so I'd just stick with 19. Maybe something like this could happen in another draft year, but not 2021.

I wonder if Myers+19 for Branny+10 makes sense? Might be an overpayment from your end, but realistically, I'm not sure where Branny would fit long term on this roster if you added Myers anyway? Just a thought.

Dropping from 10th to 19th is a bit steep, don't you think?

Using the Ellis-Myers trade with Philly as a template, I would offer Zaitsev + Logan Brown and then ask Nashville what else we need to add to get Myers.

To me, Poile has done everything this off-season to get younger, cheaper, and bigger. Hynes liked playing Harpur and Gudbranson last season because of their size, even though they were pylons. Myers is huge, Glass has size too, and he moved out over $12m (plus an extra $5m if you count Rinne's retirement) with Arvidsson, Ellis, and Jarnkrok (all under 6ft too). For better or worse, that's what Poile is looking to do -- so Myers fits that bill perfectly.

lol nah. I think Branny is a stud and wasnt terrible defending. Thats a big overpayment imo. if we move Branny imo, it would be for a top 6 forward whos still young with good term

Don't disagree at all! When Poile started moving people out, I kind of figured he was thinking of making a big splash going foward! Cheers!

For sure. I don't know how else you could swindle it, prospect wise. Think it'd have to be an overpayment if Nashville was to even consider picking up the phone.

I'd be happy with either, tbh. I have a feeling that it'll be Eklund, because GMBM loves him so Swedes, but either way I'd be content. I just really, really hope he doesn't go for Edvinsson, or go brain dead and trade the farm for Eichel.

If Beniers or Power drops, I don't think you can pass on either, but I do think it'll be one of Eklund or Guenther.

this thought actually came to my mind that Anaheim might just go the Edvinsson route but i hope for you it doesnt happen. Wonder what theyll do with Hampus

If you were to try and do this for a 22 1st you might get better traction in negotiations this year class is so up in the air on who could be a stud or not.

Hoping that they re-sign him. Guy is really underrated, and given his injuries over the past couple of years, he should be *wildly* expensive. I don't think you can get a return in a trade for him that even comes close to bringing back proper value though.

I guess it comes down to what GMBM's plan is. Are we a playoff team in 2 years? If so, great, re-sign him, make some additions here and there, and build the team back up. If not, he's held on to the vets too long, unfortunately.

Ideally one of Johnson, McTavish, Guenther, Clarke but i doubt either will drop.
if the top 9 goes as is, i wouldnt mind one of Coronato, Lucius.
But knowing Dorion , he will probably pick Wallstedt or Sillinger

Johnson would be a great fit if he falls, IMO.

Yeah, that's sort of why I'm behind Eklund or Guenther for Anaheim. Comtois-Zegras-Guenther has the potential to be friggin' awesome.
