That package gets beat by the market quite easily. Lots of teams interested in Dvorak.

Replace Miller with a 2022 1st and I think you're pretty close.

Going against the trend, that package would get you Dvorak. Kerfoot's AAV is higher than his actual salary owed (the Coyotes special) and Liljegren is still a highly-touted prospect

Money isn't Arizona's only consideration. Dvorak is a much better player than Kerfoot, two years younger and signed for 4 years, not 2. Liljegren hasn't proven anything yet. @justaBoss and @drmantalban are right -- it would take adding your 2022 first to make that an interesting offer for the Coyotes. And even then, some teams might do better simply by making the first a 2021 selection.

I think it may have gotten it done last year but Lily's lack of progression has hurt his value fairly significantly.

I like Dvorak but I suspect I'm not willing to pay the acquisition cost for him and that's fine

Agreed this offer can be beat by MIN, MTL, BOS

But I feel that if ARI still wants a roster player coming back, Kerfoot is attractive now that his signing bonus is paid out and actual dollars owed is very small.

I think that they'll want two roster players coming back. One roster player who isn't as good as Dvorak doesn't do them much good even if accompanied by a first-round draft pick -- at best, it's a lateral move that will turn a profit only three or four years down the line. There's a reason why your original offer contained a forward AND a defenseman -- you were right.

Christian Dvorak (C)

- Points Per Game = 0.48 (311 NHL games played)
- Real Cash Owing = $20,000,000 ($5,000,000 x 4)
- Current Cap Hit = $4,450,000
- Physicality = Average +
- Defense = Average +

Alexander Kerfoot (C)

- Points Per Game = 0.49 (308 NHL games played)
- Real Cash Owing = $3,400,000 ($1,700,000 x 2)
- Current Cap Hit = $3,500,000
- Physicality = Average +
- Defense = Average +

CapFriendly Pundits

OMG the Leafs would HAVE to add a 1st round pick + 1st round prospect + soo much more value !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why would Arizona even consider swapping similar players to save $17,000,000 cash + $1,000,000 cap space !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Christian Dvorak is hockey GOD with so much potential at 26 while Kerfoot is a washed up boat anchor at 27 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some people on this website are so far from reality it's funny.

Dvorak obviously has more trade value .... but not that much.

Maybe it skyrockets if he can hit 40 points in a season once?

You're boy Kerfoot's done it twice ... what an absolute BEAST.

you mixed up the AAVs but ya it's a lot closer than most realize which was why I said the trade proposed would definitely work

During Kerfoot's time in Leafs he has been a 0,42 PPG player. Dvorak has been at this same timeline a 0,55 PPG player in a signficantly weaker team. In other words, Dvorak's statistics are of increasing nature. Kerfoot's are decreasing.

Kerfoot is 27. Dvorak is 25.

Kerfoot has two years left on his contract. Dvorak has four.

You've left several pretty important details without attention in your evaluation right there, my friend.

Only you could consider not having two years of a player's compensation as a "savings." So when Kerfoot's contract runs out, his team isn't going to replace him with someone?

Nope ... no cash savings there ... none at all.

"Dvorak has been at this same timeline a 0,55 PPG player in a signficantly weaker team"

Kerfoot's team is "so good" he gets to be the 3rd line shut-down center that doesn't play with the big four, doesn't get power play time, and kills penalties.

What an advantage!
