Holland has already said the team will not be qualifying Kahun, Koskinen has no value, what he does have is a terrible contract and he was awful last year.

Interesting PIT trade-- instead of 4th going to PIT, would you do Kassian and Archibald for the 5th?

Can't see Kenny H doing that, having just protected Archie and Kass. He wouldn't trade the two grittiest signed forwards away in one deal.

You are correct on both accounts.
Just a different angle.
Kahun's QO is only $1,170,000
While Koskinen was terrible last year, Buffalo does not have an NHL GK under contract.
If they can bring Ullmark back Koskinen would be an adequate back up.
If the cannot bring Ullmark back Koskinen would the #1 GK.
Regardless, Buffalo is not giving up anything to get a back up GK and a forward who had 9 goals last year.
Both could be buried in the AHL (if no one claimed them) for less than $2,000,000 together.
On the other hand if Jack and Sam are traded Buffalo may need help reaching the cap floor.
So in conclusion, I am not advocating to make this trade but it is not that bad.

Here is an alternative Neal and Koskinen for EDM 2021 first round pick.
If jack and Sam are moved, it could give KA 5 first round picks this year.
Bostonbruins and GMTD liked this.
