Trying to get an aggressive rebuild going. Trades are probably all dreams and full of BS but trying to be fair and in the realm of possible. Goals would be playoff hopeful in 1 year, playoff lock in 2 years, and then Cup contending in 3 years.
Year 1, obviously this team is not making the playoffs. The 2022 1st round draft picks are supposed to be 2021. I would draft Mason Mctavish and use the other firsts to acquire another top 10 pick and grab Kent Johnson.
Year 2, now I think we're playoff hopefuls. You've got almost $36 million in cap space and only need to resign Boesser, Motte, Rathbone Diepietro, and Lockwood. Probably looking at something like 6/$8 million, 4/$2 million, 2/$1.5 million, 2/$1.5 million and 2/$900k. Still leaves you with $22 million in cap to fill 8 roster spots (5 forwards, 2 defence, 1 goalie). Of those spots you're probably looking at Bahl or Juolevi, Bouchard, Dipietro, and Lockwood to fill 4 of those spots. The last 4 spots I'm taking 2 other teams bad contracts with 1 year left to sit in the press box and some draft capital out of them. Lucic and Gardiner lets say. Now we have $12 million left to fill 2 forward spots in the UFA market. I'm using that draft capital from picking up Lucic and Gardner to jettison Myers to whoever I can convince to take him. Now with $18.6 million in cap I'm signing Parayko to 5/$7 million, Gaudreau to 3/$7.5 million, and Bjugstad to 2/$1.5 million. Should still have $2.5 million in space and a full roster.
Year 3, now we're looking to contend. Got $31 million in cap space to resign Hughes, Petterson, Newhook, Caulfield, Hoglander, Focht, Bouchard, Woo, and Juolevi. Now we have spots to fill (1 Rw, 2 C, 2 LW, 2 RD, 2 LD, and 3 for the press box). Bouchard (2/$2 million), and Woo (2/$1 million) fill the RD spots. Hughes (6/$9 million) and Juolevi (2/$1.25 million) fill LD. Petterson (6/$10 million) and Mason Mctavish (ELC) fill out C. Caulfield (2/$2.5 million) fills RW. Kent Johnson (ELC) and Hoglander (2/$2 million) fill out LW. Newhook becomes a cap casualty and is traded for draft capital. Focht (2/$900k), Michaelis (2/$850k), and Brisebois (2/$750k) or a drafted defenceman fill out my press box and we are now a cap team.
Year 4, still a young and deep team at all positions with almost everyone under contract. More prospects are in the cupboard coming because we aren't trading any draft picks under any circumstances except what it takes to get Myers gone in year 2 and Eriksson in year 1. This teams ready to get a cup.
I put way too much into this and it'll never happen. But Francesco, if you're watching these boards hire me maybe? I have an actual real plan.
This trades hard cuz Boston fans don't like it and rip it hard. Which I don't get, they don't like Debrusk and very clearly need goalie help for the first 4 months of the season. This trade should be a win for for Boston.
DeBrusk is worth way more than Holtby and we don't even know the situation with Rask.
Isn't he hurt and out until the new year? And maybe he is, but I don't see Debrusk getting much in trade. So the Bruins get some cap space and a goalie to stop gap as the starter until Rask is back.
we are not downgrading our f'king pick just to get rid of him he's not a cap dump.
I'm guessing you're talking about Tarasenko? And why not? Gives St Louis money to get Landeskog who they want and gets rid of Tarasenko, who they don't want. And completely relieves them of the cap hit.

Your offer is a joke, obviously. They're not paying to give you Tank. He will cost you. End of story.

Bruins don't need to trade Rask he played perfectly fine, and they have some solid backups in the minors as well. DeBrusk is a Top 6 Forward. DeBrusk was only an option if they were getting an upgrade Holtby isn't an upgrade. DeBrusk was only an option if they got a Left Handed Defenseman. This point I would have to still say they wouldn't do this deal. I would ask some of the bruins fans, but yeah I wouldn't if I were them.

Yes, I wouldn't pay a first rounder to get rid of Tarasenko, Tarasenko will bring in some value to us not the other way around. Landeskog wants 9-10 Million. Not willing to invest that much int a deal. St.Louis i'm not sure if they want Landeskog to begin with and Tarasenko will bring a decent haul we aren't capping dumping a first line forward that's stupid.
Really? I don't watch any Devils game, but hasn't his game slipped a lot?
Slipped from when he was Norris contender in 2018...but was much better this year than last.
And Devils have plenty of cap, so would never give up a top prospect like Bahl to move $$.
