I’d love if it’s less than this, but he’s a great 2-way centre on a phenomenal contract who was on pace for 25 goals this year.

So what do you think, Guhle and one of this year’s 2nd round picks then?

I’d like to keep at least 1 of our picks in the first two rounds. Especially since we have a chance of getting a RHD, which is needed a lot more than the LHD we have.

I wouldn't trade Guhle and a first. I would consider this years 1st, as it's basically a second round pick. Maybe this years first and a 3rd? 4th? While the guy scored at a 25 goal pace, he's had a difficult time actually being the main driver of a line. While the contract isn't terrible, $4.45 isn't exactly cheap: I personally would have allocated that dollar figure towards Danault before Dvorak.

They also have a massive hole on the right side of the defense. I would probably focus more on that aspect and look to free agency to fill that center position - Stastny or Cisikes for instance would cost less.

I would do this years first and Ylonen or something. Good player for sure but if we go after someone on AZ id still prefer Garland. He would likely be the package above though

Garland doesn’t play C. And I guess that’s fine, but from Montréal’s perspective it would really not be ideal to move forward prospects when they have way too many LHD. Maybe Harris or Struble instead of Ylönen?

The 1st was meant to be this year’s first, but CapFriendly just switched to the next year, and I didn’t notice.

And yeah, it definitely isn’t worth it to trade assets for a centre if we can’t get one of Hamilton or Barrie.
