I personally don't see the panthers pulling the trigger on that deal. That's a lot of money on the right side having ekblad, demers, and then seabs

Why would the hawks offer a player who's been a pretty consistent healthy scratch $1.75 million per season for three years?

I dislike being so difinitive about my opinion but there is no way Panik would sign an 800k extension. I know he wasn't a first round pick or an overly hyped player but at some point in a player's career they prove themselves and even since joining the Hawks he has played consistently like a 20g power forward.

I wager he gets somewhere between 2 and 3 per year or gets traded.

No team will pay him 2-3 million after one good season from a 26 year old. Will he get more than a million on a one or two year deal? Probably, but it would be a mistake for a team to sign him to longer than that and at more money.
