Additional Details:
Worth noting that this trade can be to any team that needs a top 4 RHD. Supposedly there’s a lot of activity on the D market. Return could be more, but I’m okay with just the third rounder.

Also worth noting all picks in all these trades could be 2021 or 2022. But capfriendly has removed 2021 option since draft is tonight.

Montréal accepts if they don’t think they can sign Hamilton.

Habs could consider it... but It would be plan C or D

It's gonna cost more than that to move Bean within the division.

Good stuff, I was thinking along similar lines. Could probably sign Sammy for cheaper but I think Caniac2000 above me is right in that Bean will probably cost a little more, especially to a division rival

Well honestly we can afford it no matter what, unless we sign Hamilton. We have around $16.5 million to sign 2 D and one centre. And no one available (other than Hamilton) would cost more than $6 million per year.

Oh I agree. I feel we will be signing Savard because he is a big boy and from QC - just what we need after the loss of Weber and Danault (maybe not Danault)

Savard would be nice, but if the trade deadline market is any indication, he’s going to get overpaid this off-season. I wouldn’t give him more than $3 million per year. Travis Hamonic is in the same vein as Savard, and probably very similar in terms of their value IMO, but there’s a lower chance he gets overpaid.

It's a good idea with the Canucks trade, but you can't have that much salary retention AND the 2nd, I don't think. We need to move cap and would rather trade Holtby to whoever will take the cap

I'm now realizing... Holtby... cap... Holtby.. Caps.. it all makes sense.

I’d be willing to add a B level prospect like Geisser (LHD) or a third round pick, but beyond that it doesn’t make sense to add much more when there are other potential options available.

That’s fair. You think maybe upping the pick the caps send back or adding a prospect instead could potentially move the needle? I was thinking we flip the pick for Jake Bean since we don’t have a 2022 second rounder of our own.

I'd rather see our second kept or moved for Jake Bean. Any Holtby move should be to clear cap and maybe add a 6th or something. Dillon makes some sense. Don't know if Caps are willing to take Holtby back after recently letting him go. Just think the whole thing will probably go in a different direction. I like the idea though, fills both teams needs on the ice.
