Seeing as Philly had requested the medical records of Eichel to complete a trade and never received them and has since reportedly lost interest. I would be wary of any deal before he has his surgery.

This has to be close. I do it if I'm Montreal, but another piece might be needed

I wouldn't do anything until Eichel has recovered or is on the path to recovery from his surgery. Especially seeing as Philly had requested the medical records of Eichel to complete a trade and never received them and has since reportedly lost interest.

Value is close, pieces make sense except another LD which Sabres don't need. It at least has you in the conversation. Nice work.

I am not trying to come off like I don't want Eichel cause he would be a phenomenal add, my concern is only giving up all of those pieces before we know how his recovery goes. Hell IF he had had surgery and was back on the ice from it already then I would be glad to give up Caufield or Zuke for him even if he was slated to miss the first 1-2 months of the season.

Yeah, but you’ve got him for the next 5years
Whoever gets Eichel is gonna have to be ok with that risk

For me with the way the Sabres are being with regards to his medical records, the risk is too big. Philly supposedly offered a package for Eichel and was waiting on his records and never received them. IF true it is concerning as to why they never received them. I wouldn't take the risk without knowing what the prognosis was and before he had surgery and was on the road to recovery.

I’d be SHOCKED if we trade Eichel to Boston, Toronto, or Montreal
One of them would have to outbid the others significantly (I’d think) for him to be traded to a division rival

So i don’t think u guys have much to worry about anyways

It’s not up to BUF if PHI got Eichel’s medical records it is up to Eichel the team can’t share those without his permission so I wouldn’t be reading to much into that beyond Eichel didn’t want PHI to have his medical records.

Actually, it is up to Buffalo as teams have control over medical records of all their players. They have clauses written into play contracts so that they control the injury information being leaked to the media and other teams. Even IF Eichel and his manager have the records it is more than likely that Buffalo has an agreement in place to prevent the leaking of his injury status. It is why many players decline to comment during media availability about injuries and such.

So apparently, Fletcher just said that they did not pursue Eichel so that report is garbage and this entire conversation was pointless. I hate the media and how hard it is to wade through the garbage they put out. Sorry to Sabre fans for sharing in the spread of the rumor, I try to find credible sources but it seems like those sources are getting harder and harder to find.

Apparently, this has been debunked by Fletcher. He said that the Flyers were never in on Eichel so the report is false.

Good post. I would have bet a substantial amount of money because of HIPPA regulations it was up to the player, but your info and a Google search helped correct me. Thanks!
