It’s Beagle, Eriksson, and Rousell with 9oa for Garland and OEL.

Actually? If so that actually makes this a little better.

That trade is a win for VAN then. 9 is a bit steep but OEL is the best player of the bad contracts and Garland. I think OEL bounces back a bit.

Remember when those VAN fans were like we don't want Pettersson......
Well now look what you ended up with.

I hate this move for VAN.
Even if OEL plays good, I hate this move for VAN.
In 1 year they could have cleared 12 million in cap space, and still had the 9th OA.
Instead, they panic give up the 9OA and help AZ tank into a full rebuild.
When AZ ends up landing 1OA next year, picks up Wright, and has a ton of cap to work with, everyone will look at this trade and be like, VAN built a winner in AZ.

i feel like this is a W for the canucks they just go alot better Garland will be amazing for them and OEL should bounce back and the players available with the 9th pick dont really impress me other than Mason Mctavish cause i know him lol

One year of Eriksson, Beagle, Roussel won't hurt especially if they're scratched/waived unlike OEL who will play on the top pair despite being a 3rd pair D. Still possible he bounces back but we'll see. I'm giving the edge to ARI.

The full deal has a 2nd next season too going to AZ. So yes AZ did well. I just like Garland to VAN. That top 6 is gonna be very good. But they got a lot of other things to figure out.

Maybe if VAN has a good defensive system or a great partner for him in the near future. I doubt.

I still don't think it's that bad of a deal for VAN, we'll just have to see.

Depends on who Coyotes pick. It would make my day if they randomly picked some guy projected to go in the fourth round but it’s unlikely…

They are saying 12% of his salary not cap hit. So thats 1.2M

Same as the kessel retained money on a long term deal so probably the best case scenario if youre taking OEL
