Didn’t meet the games requirement but he’s exempt, he can not be Offer sheeted

That is a bummer (for those of us non-Canucks fans looking for 10/10 bananalands crazy action in the NHL this offseason).

So what does that mean for his contract negotiations? Have to think there's no way he will sign for under $6.5M (short-term). And if he did, would think that would sour his relationship with the team.

Yeah 100% no way he is signing under 6.5, I'd guess anywhere from 6.5-7 on a bridge and long term it would be 8-8.5
