This is an absolutely massive return for Columbus. Plus they don't have to give Jones a huge contract.

Stan Bowman is a terrible person and a terrible GM. I really feel bad for Hawks fans. This is just embarrassing.

Due to the Jones' big chungus contract this will be an easy W for Kekäläinen

People accused the NHL offseason of being boring and all the GMs decided to collectively lose their minds to prove them wrong

Jones’s contract is bigger than our owner.

I mean imagine if Dach or Debrincat were part of this as it was initially rumored.

Welcome to a hockey version of the Herschel Walker trade. Jones is not what the Hawks need, meanwhile those futures CBJ just loaded up with could end up being huge. Boqvist is already well on track.

Everyone should thank Ken Holland for giving Stan Bowman the motivation and tools to do this move here tonight.

There have been so many extremely lopsided trades over the past few days.

**** THE HAWKS

Massively overpaid for an already overpaid defender and then overpaid him even more. Completely ****ed themselves and I couldn't be happier. I hope this franchise never wins another NHL game.

I don’t understand what the appeal would be anymore to sign a massive extension with the Chicago Blackhawks organization.

Wow. Just wow. What an absolute battle it's been today for the prestigious title of "Dumbest GM in the League." A lot of great contestants to choose from on this fine Friday evening. Chris Dury from New York with a strong entry trading Pavel Buchnevich for a gritty fourth liner and signing Goodrow to a fabulous six year deal because Tom Wilson exist. Vancouver's Jim Benning with his yearly entry today can't be overlooked. Counting on OEL to bounce back despite going to a worse defensive team will surely work out. Stan Bowman's Blackhawks going ALL IN despite not being close to a contender and giving Seth Jones that massive contract. Certainly a worthy entry. Great work Bowman, you POS. Less we forgot, Chuck Fletcher proving just how much nepotism exist in hockey with sending a 1st and 2nd round pick for one of the worst analytical players in the league. Chuck's reading the CBA as we speak to see if he can sign Risto to a 14 year deal. Plenty of great entries to choose from today. Can't wait for next week's edition when free agency opens up.

Better not see the JFresch card, Jones is overhated just because of his analytics. He’s a good d-man, just not what his reputation had previously indicated or what this trade would indicate

Getting fleeced this bad couldn't have happened to a more deserving team. Fire everyone and put them on trial.

Giving up the #11 first round pick this year was unnecessary. Bowman and Co had all the leverage in these negotiations and they capitulated to a team that was bound to lose Jones to free agency.
