The hawks really are gonna be okay, not good, great, or bad. Just okay. Destined to be drafting in the mid teens for the next 5 years. This move does not make us a contender, they aren’t going to beat teams like Colorado, Dallas, STL. We’d be lucky to beat out Nashville for a playoff spot. I am extremely disappointed that they aren’t committed to becoming great again. Sure they got an arguably good player, but the assets they gave up to get him and the contact they committed to him are roadblocks to their future success. Seth Jones is no Duncan Keith, he’s not a Norris level D man anymore and he may never be again, this is hockey purgatory and I’m sick of it.

No, it doesn’t make a playoff team. They will be okay, but just okay. Sure they got the better player, but they mortgaged their future to the hilt. They’re in win now mode and their team isn’t even close to being a contender. So, yea, this trade really bothered me in a bad way. That extension though………..holy **** that sucks.
