The Wild aren't giving up that much for Eichel. That's 2 of our top prospects, a very good wing, and a 1st round pick. Even if he was 100% healthy, I wouldn't feel comfortable with giving up that haul.

Just an all-time terrible take. If he was 100% healthy, this deal is nowhere close to landing Eichel. A middle 6 winger and 3 unproven assets for a top line center...that's a dealbreaker for you even with no injury concerns? Just embarrassing.

Sorry I don't want to sell the farm in the hopes that Eichel can bring us the cup in the next 5 years. Look at what those buyouts did to our cap outlook for the next 4 years. Adding a $10 million player while also getting rid of 2 of our top prospects and a 1st round picks means we aren't going to have any cap room or any high quality prospects (outside of Rossi) who are on an ELC or cheap contract during those 4 years. I would much rather spend less to get another center that doesn't blow a massive hole in out future. Making this trade would be pushing all out chips in on Eichel being the savior which I'm not convinced on and even if I was, I don't think we're in a spot where we should be pushing all our chips in right now.

If you don't want to buy on Eichel I can understand that, but here's what you need to understand. Minnesota is close. Pushing Vegas to 7 this year showed that. I firmly believe with jack Eichel they are cup favorites next year if they don't give up too many roster players, and honestly fiala can be negotiated to stay on Minnesota potentially. Drafting and development is important but don't forget what everyone is chasing in the NHL, the cup.
