Description
Well that went alot differently than I thought!! Lol

I think Nashville did pretty good!! Fedor Svechkov and Zachary L'Heureux seem like 2 pretty decent prospects. Heard Svechkov is a elite defensive forward. Anyone know these guys' potentials/where they rank among our other prospects?

I really like this L'Heureux kid!! I like what he had to say....

"Scout J-P Glaude says when the Predators asked Zachary L'Heureux why they should draft him, the prospect replied by saying "take anyone in the Draft, if you put one puck in the corner, I'm going to get out with the puck. I'm going to win the battle.""

"draftee Zachary L'Heureux says he's got a long way to go, but he doesn't mind being compared to Boston's Brad Marchand. L'Heureux calls himself a strong power forward and a team-first guy."

(Quotes from Preds Twitter account)

Imagine if NSH drafted Wallstedt for fun (EXTREMELY MAD at Holland and his staff for not taking him. #FIREHOLLAND)🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂🤣

I haven't followed any prospects at all this past season, so I know nothing about the new kids. They both sound intriguing, but neither of them project to have a high offensive ceiling, in what I've been able to read on them. Even with Tolvanen, Tomasino, Evangelista in the system, the Preds could still use more goal scoring in the pipeline (when haven't they?).

L'Heureux really has my interest piqued. It's hard to know what to think about the pick. Obviously the suspensions and questions about discipline come up in every scouting report about him, but you have to hope Poile and his team did their homework on that front. Sometimes I question Poile's ability to judge a player's character though.

I'm pretty happy with that first round. I think both players are likely NHLers, but neither has that high of a ceiling. I wonder if Lavy was the coach, would they have taken a guy like Lysell over Svechkov (WPG got a good one in Lucius one pick ahead of us too)? They seem like safe picks that fit into the mold of a Barry Trotz team -- so it looks like Hynes has quite a bit of influence right now. And it does makes sense to take Svechkove with Askarov being the pick last year. I wish NSH also made the trade with NYR for Buchnevich -- such a cheap return for a solid young forward with size. All in all, I think both will be effective Preds middle 6 forwards in a few years.
