A 7th (#214) to move up 23 spots is actually a good get for MInnesota. In a regular draft year, with greater certainty in the quality of players, you wouldn’t usually see a 7th allow a team to move up this much, at this point in the draft.

It's a crapshoot and Minnesota just moved up to take a player projected to go undrafted... I question it, but I'm voting Montreal because they got two picks in a rather unknown draft.

slightly off-topic but i guess it fits: that stuff that came out about joshua roy’s trade to sherbrooke... yikes. i’m not one to pile onto any “character issue” claim but complaining, especially during the pandemic where one of the chl leagues didn’t even get to play hockey, doesn’t look that nice grimace

“Joshua Roy explains that he wanted to be traded by the [Saint John] Sea Dogs because he didn’t like the environment there. He cited the types of training sessions and and the food served to players on the road. He was glad to arrive in Sherbrooke [with the Phœnix], “a real junior team.””

Yeah, that’s definitely problematic. At least he’s just a spoiled brat, and not a criminal like the other person the habs drafted. Hopefully he can mature soon.

Well now that we know that he used to be overweight and was able to put in the work and vastly improve over the summer, it seems like Joshua wasn’t at all out of line with his comments, and Saint John indeed wasn’t run very well.
