I think Bordeleau is playing another year of college hockey but once both him and Eklund are ready on cheap entry level deals this team will be good. No rebuild needed!

There's a pretty fair chance Eklund makes the team this season.

Regardless I am just so happy we finally have an Elite level prospect along with another really strong draft.

Oaaaffff that's tight cap wise considering that's with no scratches and a really cheap goalie tandem. 😬

Maybe we can get Hertl to sign a 8yr 5.5M AAV deal like Nuge to help make cap work.

Getting rid of Burns is the key

I would argue Vlasic is more key, at least Burns should still be able to eat minutes for a few more years. Hopefully EK65 van return to better health and play up to his best we have seen in SJ for extended periods on 2nd pair.
Moving Vlasic would let us bring on a cheap 3rd pair of prospects (Kniazev/Merkley is what I used in my version)

Going to he interesting couple years for franchise though, if they suck again we get another high end prospect and that makes this "retool" even more stomachable

Burns is realistic to get rid of, Vlasic is unmovable

I really hope we don’t force Eklund to play in the NHL. I think SHL or AHL would be good for him (but I could be wrong obviously if he lights up the camp/ “tryouts”). Especially because we’ll get to see where he’s better at (if prominent/full time at C in either league looks promising then we’ll know what’s “best”).

Plus I think our AHL team is good enough that if he’s contractually able to play in the AHL (idk if he is or isn’t allowed), that he could win a Calder Cup with Cuda if they have a good year, or at least some NA experience.
