Im getting barzal-tavares vibes rn with the raty pick. So that would be great, but for 1 season only. Ratys gonna play in sweden this year and if he plays there next year also, then he comes over in 23-24. What happens if barzal wants to leave so he accepts his qualifying offer, then he and raty will overlap for 1 year before barzy potentially leaves. Im getting a little scared, dont know why but with that staple cizikas contract projection (yes its staple but its also LL with a bottom 6 grinder) i could see barzy pissed off bc he doesnt have a winger and wanna leave. Fingers crossed and hoping lou gets casey on the cheap and a sniper for barzy.

Casey isn’t worth more than 3, also the only reason Tavares walked is cause he’s stupid so I wouldn’t worry. Isles haven’t given Barzal a reason to walk

Isn’t Barzal an RFA? And therefore couldn’t walk without the Islanders getting something in return for him leaving by trading his negotiation rights?

He has 2 years left and then hes an rfa but if he takes the QO he'll be a ufa the next offseason.

If that happens, there’ll be time to get a sign and trade arranged.
