If Schmidt was willing to waive for Winnipeg he would’ve been traded for Roslovic last offseason

One 3rd round pick is all I'd give for Schmidt, Canucks break even on him, his contract has risk attached to it so no chance I'd give anymore then that and that is if he'd waive for Winnipeg which isn't likely.

Okay. If not Winnipeg, then where?

Idk, would Carolina have the cap space or any interest in Schmidt? Sounds like DougieH might actually be moving on for real, traded Bean, Fleury was dealt last deadline and Gardiner seems to have not worked out all that great there, the Canes are about the only team I can think of that might have any interest in Schmidt but idk what their cap situation is like and who their RFAs are that they have to sign, they might not have the space for him at all.

Other then Carolina I can't really think of any teams that would want or have the cap space for Schmidt, he carries an almost six million cap hit for a few more years, it'll be pretty tough to find any team that'll take him without sending at least some cap back.
